Planning meals is not one of my strong points. While surfing Google+ this morning I saw something that caught my eye and we even had all the ingredients. That’s spur of the moment cooking. So here’s what I found:
“Easy miso soup recipe anyone can make. 4 cups water, 1/3 cup miso paste, I nori sheet or wakame & 1 cup chopped firm tofu. Boil water with seaweed, turn heat down to low and add miso till dissolved, cut well drained tofu and add to broth. Chop 2 green onions and serve. One tip. do not add green onions to soup pot only bowl. This way the green onion stays crisp , fresh & favourable. You can add a smidgen of soy or tamari for a deeper flavour..!! Enjoy !”
The only adjustments I made were straining the seaweed (not one of my favorites) and I added a touch of oil. My wife said it was too salty. So next time I’ll add less miso, no oil and she told me to not add the soy sauce. I loved it. It’s a mellow, warm breakfast that is very satisfying. By the way, I used my homemade tofu in this recipe. Oh yeah, it was good.
