You are looking at three cups of soybeans soaking in purified water. I’m going to let them soak for 10 hours before turning them first into 4.5 liters of soy milk (with our Soyajoy G4 Milk Machine) and then into a delicious tub of homemade tofu! Photos soon!
Also today, I found out how to easily get the skins off hazelnuts. What a pain! First you have to crack them out of the shells, then you boil them in water with 3 tablespoons of baking soda. Then put them in ice water. The skins easily slide off. Still a chore, but have you ever tried just peeling? Doesn’t work!
Okay, so why am I doing this? Because I am experimenting with hazelnut cheese. Yeah, I know! Almond cheese tasted so good, I figured what the heck? So I’m trying the same recipe of olive oil, water, garlic and lemon juice. I added the mix to the food processor and went crazy chopping. The mix looks exactly the same as the almond cheese, so I’m curious how it will taste. It’s setting in the fridge now in the tofu mold. I’ll let you know the verdict soon!
